Formerly Conference Room 1 and the largest space, accommodates up to 1,200 persons. An observers’ gallery plus public and press galleries sit on the first floor, the speaker’s rostrum is elevated, and a portable circular stage can be installed for artistic performances.
Similar in design to the Kenneth Rattray Room, with its own press gallery, secretariat offices and documents distribution counter. Rooms 1 and 2 both open onto the 4,400 sq ft Harbour Lounge and its magnificent view of Kingston Harbour.
A fine reflection of local material used in a decorative and functional way. Its bamboo ceiling adds a warm, artistic atmosphere while enhancing the room’s acoustics — one of many indigenous art and craft details found throughout the Centre.
Separated by a movable acoustic wall, these rooms merge to accommodate just under 400 persons. The barrel-vault roof of the pre-existing warehouse is clearly visible — a deliberate nod to the building’s heritage.
